Safety and security in the neighborhood were highlighted as a top priority at the recent open house event at Northtown, the newest development of Alsons Development and Investment Corporation (Alsons Dev).

The open house event was held after the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between Alsons Dev and the City Government of Davao to build a public safety complex at Northtown in Cabantian, Buhangin. The 1,500-square meter complex donated by Alsons Dev to the City of Davao will house 911, fire, and police stations. The facilities will allow faster response to emergencies in Cabantian and neighboring barangays in Buhangin.

Welcoming guests at the event, Alsons Dev Assistant General Manager for Operations Conrado de Jesus said, “Alsons Dev takes safety and security seriously, and we look forward to the public safety complex serving Northtown and the bigger Buhangin community.”

Basic safety seminars conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP), Central 911, and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) were organized for the guests of the open house event. The two-day event also included a poster-making contest for kids, to help raise awareness for Fire Prevention Month.

Alsons Dev will commence construction of the community support complex in the middle of 2015, and expects the complex to be completed by the first quarter of 2016.
